Insert CR into Word Art Dialog box

I attached a file with macro7 that prompts the user for text that will get rotated and inserted into the top left corner. The text is in the form "batch xxxx." I need a carriage return between the word "batch" and the numeric string. I guess the input box should have two lines instead of one.

the code does some other stuff which is why it takes a while to execute.

    Thank you,

    Gary Willick

    Hello ,

This change in the code will replace each space in the text with a new line (Line Feed) character.

Re: Insert CR into Word Art Dialog box

I attached the same file because I'm having another problem. My code sets the margins to .25 (left and top) but they're not getting set, or if they are, the inserted text is appearing in the same place as when the macro sets the left and top margins to .75. I want the text to appear as close to the top of the page as possible, so the top margin is the important one. It doesn't have to appear closer to the left side of the page. Since the paper is filed sideways in a bottom drawer, less leaning over is necessary the closer the text is to the top.

    TIA,

    Gary

    Hello Gary,

I printed out a sheet to look at the format. The edge spacing looks good. Do you want to rotate the shape so the letters horizontal?

I want the letters rotated because they are easily read by a person standing up that way.

I made that post because on previous printings the "batch xxxx" appeared further in the corner, then it moved away in subsequent executions of the macro. I didn't know what happened so I attached the file. did you edit the code to move the text further into the corner?

I haven't gotten a reply to my most recent post. I understand that everyone is busy - the script works anyway, it just isn't as perfect as it could be.

If you need a file uploaded, please let me know.

    Hello Gary,

I am not sure way the margins are changing after the first execution of the macro. I would be interested in seeing the latest version of the file.

Still no reason why the it's not printing all the way in the corner?

    Hello Gary,

The printouts all line up with each other perfectly. There is no shifting of the margins on the paper or in the workbook. Do you have problems when printing other files in landscape format?

Re: Insert CR into Word Art Dialog box

Leith - I'm a bit confused by your reply. Do you understand that the problem is that the text was appearing about 3/4" from the left margin adn an inch from the top. On prior runs it was really crammed into the corner there - closer to the ediges of the paper. That is what I was striving for. Every time I print it the "batch" text isn't as close as it can be to the edge of the paper. how close to the edge is it with your printouts? I haven't had problems with other landscape printings. I've tried variouis printers in the office.

It is not a problem of not lining up, as in horizontally or vertically (being tilted).

If you understood the problem I apologize for repeating it. I appreciate you trouble shooting this for me,

    Gary
