    Building a mirrored notification sheet?

So I have an idea that i'd like to make with Excel. I have been told by several "excel" guru's that itd be pretty hard to do but might be possible

I am wanting to basically build a master sheet that i can manipulate with different messages. Then from there i want to give some other person a template that can reflect what message i have typed in onthe master sheet.

So if i type in for instance, Hello on the master sheet, I want to have it automatically populate onthe other sheet on someone else's computer.

I understadn if i have to have the sheet networked on a sharepoint server or somethign to that affect, but is this at all possible using VBA?

Probably. Sounds like a LOT of work for something that an email program or Skype can do instantly.

I am sendign out the notifications using a VBA that generates an email when i click the certain messgae i want. this email is sent to about 140 people at one time and there is probably 10 different mesages daily sent using the VBA email macro.

I want to stream line somethign that doesnt use up your email inbox and they can just plainly view on there desktop a message instead of recieviong emails.

hey.. im looking for a raise here sometime

Part of getting recognition will probably come from them seeing you use the right tool for the right job. Using Excel as an instant messenger is like using your pet to wash the floor...he can do it, but it will be a lot more work/time...and possible very sloppy to boot.

Sorry, someone may have a perfectly lovely solution for this. We'll see.

    yea, good call.
how about I have 1 master sheet and 1 second sheet. When i put a message in sheet 1, i can have sheet 2 reference back to the master sheet using a vlookup? and always reflect what specific cells are saying? then have an auto refresh macro running every 5 minutes or so to refresh and reflect when a new message shows. would somethign like that work?

Sounds simple enough you can test it. I expect the shared files over the network may cause some grief, but you'll know soon enough. Let us know how it works out.
