    Question F 5 doesn't work right.

    Hello
I'm having a problem with F5. Before the problem, When I used F5 to go to a cell, It would be in the upper left corner of the screen. Now, it is on the right side of the screen . Also, before when I hit "HOME" the cursor would go to "A1". Now it goes to the "A" row and stays on the same line that it started from. I tried using F5 with the Scrool Lock On and Off and have the same problem.

Did I somhow change a setting

What you are describing sounds like the standard behaviour.

Home takes you to the beginning of the row. Ctrl-Home takes you to the top left cell on the sheet.

The position of the selected cell after a go to command depends on the selection when the goto command is executed. If A1 is the active cell and you perform a goto R34, then Excel will scroll down and right sufficient rows and columns until the cell can be selected. This will be in the lower right corner of the screen.

If the active cell is ZZ99 when goto R34 is performed, Excel will scroll up and left until R34 becomes visible in the top left of the screen.

    Hello teylyn,
    thanks for the quit response.
Until a couple of days ago, when I used the "go to" command, the cell selected was always at the top left of the screen, unless the requested cell was already in the screen. Then, the screen would not change. this was the case whether I was going to the right or left to the selected cell. Home always took me to A1. I based my macros on this. I using Excel 2007. I went to a computer with Excel 2003 and tried F5. It acted as I said this version used to. I did the Scroll on and off to see if it made a difference. A lot of my macros start out by going to A1. Some will have the selected active cell be at the upper left so I can freeze the row at the heading and scroll down to the first clear cell to start entering data.

    Hi again teylyn,
I found that I had checked the Lotus navagation square in Excel options when I installed Excel last year and un- checked it a couple of days ago. I re-checked it and it works fine. I looked at the Excel 2003 version that I was using for testing and it was also checked.
Thanks for helping me. Now, if I can do something with my memory...maybe a re-boot...
