Shading & Inactivating cells via check box

I have a spreadsheet where there is an active controls checkbox in a portion of the spreadsheet on the first tab. I would like it to be that, if selected (checked), then the cells on the second tabbed worksheet would be disabled. Any way to do this? I am not familar with VBA. Alternatively, if I remove the check box and ask the user to enter Y for yes and disable the second worksheet?

Thanks in advance for the help.
