Hours between dates - VBA

Hi, I have a spreadsheet with data as shown in attached picture, I have tried a SUMIF formula to try and return any hours into column E if they fall between dates in Column C and D, the data range from which the hours are to be returned is column A and B.

The formula needs to look down column A2:A500 and B2:B500 and look for any hours which fall between dates C2 & D2 then return the sum in E2, then I can copy the code into E3 and it will look for sum of hours from dates which fall between C3 & D3.
