Can anyone help me, I want to be able to type a nem in one cell and be able to click search and it will look up an tell me where that name is in a particular Colum, like th e search feature but so that it will show only that name on the sheet, then I can press reset or something simular and the sheet will go back to all names.
Is this possible at all??

Have you tried Autofilter?
It is in the DATA menu... click the Filter (funnel) icon.
It will add drop down arrows to top row. You click the arrow of the column you want to filter and choose the name... after you are finished click the arrow again and choose All.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Yes I know how to do that, but I want to be able to just type a name in a cell and click search and not have to look for it, for reasons of speed.
