Talking Abbreviation to Text help. Example tb=Trainer/Burch Forgotten formula.

I am trying to do something and have forgotten. I am trying to track 6 students that have all the same tasks throughout a month. I wanted to do something like this. tb=Trainer/Burch. That way all I have to do is type in tb and it automatically types in the "Trainer/Burch". That way it would save a lot of time. I can not for the life of me remember how to do this. The text part has me thrown off. I have the 6 names of the students at the top and then the 31 days for the month on the left hand side. Can someone refresh my memory on how to make an abbreviation equal text? I have several different Trainers so Burch is not the only one.

    Hi,

You could use the Worksheet_Change event and have a macro detect tb and replace it with Trainer/Birch. But why not just enter all the abbreviations, then when complete just select the whole of the used range and do a find and replace.

Used a defined name. From the Insert menu choose Name-> Define

In the names in book box type TB,in the refers to box type ="TrainerBurch"

    In any cell type =TB
