    guarantee virus-free macro?

Hi folks - need advice. I work for a research company which has contracts with the government to collect data from schools. In the past, we have offered a web based data collection option or a flat file uploading option to give us our data. The flat file option required a programmer to produce it. This year, we'd like to offer the option of having the respondent use a macro-enabled spreadsheet to give us our data. The macros would verify good data, do QC checks, etc.

I am worried that many schools will not let folks enable the macros unless we could give them some sort of guarantee that there weren't lurking viruses in the spreadsheet. Is there a way to do this? Is there a 3rd party tool that could scan the spreadsheet and guarantee that it was virus-free? I also don't want to scare them into worrying about it, but for those who are worried up front, I thought maybe there'd be something we could do.

    thanks in advance!

Get a digital certificate from VeriSign. It's your company's formal, verifiable representation that the code is free of malware.

Thanks much! I didn't realize VeriSign was also for VBA stuff.
