Chart. Marker line length. How to change

In XL2007 do we have any control over the length of a series marker. The Marker line style seems to offer several types of thickness but not on the width. I don't want to join the series markers with a horizontal line just have a small 'dash' say a few mm wide to mark the series.

    Usual TIA

The marker line properties control the border of the marker.

If you use Marker Options > Built-in. You can select the Dash and as in xl2003 you can control the size of the marker.

To have full control over the length of the marker you will need to switch to xy-scatter rather than line chart. Then you can use the X Error bar.
