    Question creating a formula

How do I calculate totals for each bin from the top list into the bottom list? I guess It needs to sort through the bin cells and select the value in the Qty Cell and then the Value call. Part number is not needed

    Bin Part QTY Value
    Lon 1p1 1 $20,200.00
    Bei 2p2 2 $30,000.00
    Vie 3p3 1 $40,000.00
    BHS 4p4 3 $10,000.00
    Nrk 5p5 2 $20,000.00
    Nrk 1p1 2 $10,000.00
    Lon 3p3 1 $20,000.00
    BHS 2p2 3 $2,000.00
    Bei 5p5 4 $1,000.00
    Vie 4p4 2 $3,000.00

    Bin QTY Value
    Lon 2 $40,200.00
    Bei 6 $31,000.00
    Vie 3 $43,000.00
    BHS 6 $12,000.00
    Nrk 4 $30,000.00

    Re: creating a formula

    1) Create a table with all your Bins listed one time each.
    2) Use SUMIF() to sum the values in the QTY column that match a particular BIN.
(Press F1 and read up on the ways you can use SUMIF())

For example, with "Lon" in D2, perhaps this in E2:
    =SUMIF(A:A, D2, B:B)
...would sum the QTY column in column B

    Then in F2:
    =SUMIF(A:A, D2, C:C)
...would sum the AMT column in column C

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.
    Hope that helps.
