Linking spreadsheets together help

I am trying to work out a way of connecting 4 spreadsheets together in such a way that I don't have to update the links every week. I create 4 new spreadsheets from master copies each week, and to update the links between them I have to manually change which sheet they link to on each cell. Is there an easier way to do this?

When you say you use 4 connecting spreadsheets, do you mean 4 separate excel workbook documents? I only ask this because if you have a master workbook set up which has 4 sheets and the appropriate links between these sheets, then when you come to copy the master each week and re-name the document using 'save as', then no links have to be touched in the new document as they are all re-referenced to relate to the new document name etc.
If I have misunderstood, apologies!
Other than that, use the 'find & replace' option to bulk change data.

Yes, 4 separate excel spreadsheets. 1 of the sheets collates figures from the other 3 sheets. I haven't tried the find and replace button before though, I'll give that one a go. Thanks.

The find and replace works well, but we have to protect each sheet to stop people from editing the formulas (I work with very people who know very little about computers). Again, is there a way around having to unprotect each sheet individually?

Sorry, all you have done is repeat the word 'spreadsheet' when I was trying to determine if your terminology of 'spreadsheet' referred to a sheet within a workbook (so one document with 4 tabs in it) or the actual workbook (so 4 separate excel documents). Apologies for defining in this way but that's what I was trying to establish but am still none the wiser. Either way, I was trying to cover both angles because if it is 4 separate excel documents that you have with links between them, then what I was saying is that you can avoid the problem of having to re-reference data by amalgamating all the 4 documents into one workbook as 4 separate sheets. On the other hand, if you already have just the one document with 4 sheets, I am confused as to why you need to amend data references if you are copying from a master document in the first place.
