    asset tracking

Hi, i am in need of some help with an asset tracking template. first, i work for a small airline and we are trying to have better accountability of our tools that we issue out to our mechanics from our parts room. I found this template on the internet and it has mostly what i need. I need to be able to scan a bar code on a specific tool and scan an employee's id and then check the tool either in or out. i have a basic bar code scanner hooked up to a computer. As you can see from the template there is only one box i can scan a bar code into. How do i make another one where i can scan an employee's id into and have it display data pertaining to the employee. I would also need to be able to track the history of what the employee has checked in and out in say the last week or so. Also i need to have two buttons one labeled "Check In" and one "check out". when the "check in button" is pressed it would have to change the status of the tool on the assets page to "available" and when the "check out" button is pressed it would change the scanned tool's status to "checked out" and report on the track asset page like it is already doing for other things. I know this seems like alot but i am totally open to suggestions on how to do this. i am not very good with excel at all so i am sorry if this sounds confusing to anyone. i don't think this would be too hard for someone who really knows what they are doing with excel. I really appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thank You in advance.

    attached is the template.
