Hey all! I have a drop down box (looks smaller than usual) on a worksheet. I have tried many ways to delete it and have failed! Its not a data validation! Anyone? Anything? Please let me know!

It's probably a combobox from the Controls toolbox.
Go to View|Toolbars and select Controls Toolbox (if not already selected).
You should see an icon that looks like an Engineer's square a Straight edge and a pencil... if you hover over it it should say Design Mode. Click it, then select and delete the combobox.
Edit:" If you are in 2007, then as suggested by protonleah below.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

You didn't say what you've tried. How about: Developer tab> Design Mode, Click and delete?

Sorry for leaving out my version! I'm using 2007, and I've tried the design > click and delete. Nothing happened!
Can you post a jpg or something depicting the issue.
If you click the Data tab, is the Filter button pressed?

Aaah yes.. I bet that's it
I wish that was it. I have attached a jpeg!

1. No you haven't.
2. Why a picture? The workbook would be a lot more helpful...
Sorry, just edited that post! I would attach the workbook, but its a HUGE file.
Can you copy just that sheet to a new book and post that?
Try going again to the Developer tab, click the Developer so that it is active.
Right click the icon and select Cut.
It looks very much like a reduced since Control (combobox)
Nothing happens when I right click the object!
Well, i guess it is back to Romperstomper's suggestion to upload a sample workbook showing the probem... you can delete/change everything around it if necessary....
OK I have attached a copy of the wb. Hope this helps!
Hmm...
I have no idea why it cannot be deleted... there has got to be something...
It looks like a combox box from the Forms Menu.. I tried to delete it...
I tried to select it as an Object through Go To Special....
... no vba code, that I can tell...
I am not sure....
Here you go - I've deleted it.
What was it R.?
I believe it was a data validation dropdown that had become disconnected - it happens sometimes if you run code to manipulate shapes on a sheet with DV on it and don't check the shape type before altering it.
I tried deleting all DV's but that didn't go... I did notice it was a .xlsm file with no vba.. so probably something was in the background....
What did you actually do to delete it... in case it comes up again in the future?
Looped through all the shapes on the sheet to get their names, checked the visibility of the Dropdowns (whilst not on a DV cell), then just used:
after I had the name. Please Login or Register to view this content.
Great. Thanks.
Anyone find anything out yet? I can't seem to find any way to get rid of it!
Try reading the posts above...
Just noticed this post, I have had big problems with this in the past.
Especially during development of sheets with nested or groups of controls, if copying is going on.
Sometimes they can show as no more than a dot. It plays havoc when trying to control shapes.
Rompers' way out is basically the same as I have done in the past and is, in my opinion, the only way to be sure the sheet is "Clean".
Sorry for not seeing this earlier.
Cheers
Worked for me on the attachment, but not on my original!
Attached the error!

Nothing attached...
Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Select a cell on the sheet that does not have data validation, and then run this code:
and see if that fixes it.Please Login or Register to view this content.
Will this delete all of the other DV's on that sheet?
No - it will only delete dropdowns that are currently visible (which is why you need to select a cell that doesn't have a DV list first).
