    Data Advanced

I have developed a model that allows a user to select a name from a drop-down list. The name is then used as part of the criteria range for an extract from a defined database. The model works perfectly on my notebook but does not work on other notebooks? I have extracted parts of the code and created a new workbook to test the code and the sample works on the other notebooks. The version is Excel 97. Are there any settings which could be preventing the data extraction?

I have attached a sample file. The problem occurs when the criteria range extends to include column D. The sample file works OK but does not work on the other notebooks when column D is included in the criteria range??
    Thank you in advance

I have been struggling with this problem for a few days. I can't understand why it works on certain notebooks but not on others? Could the regional settings in Control Panel affect it?

What specifically do you mean when you say it doesn't work? Also, if they are on Excel 97, why is this an .xlsm file?

If the criteria range extends to include column D, no records are extracted. Records are extracted if column D is excluded. My apologies, they are using 2007. I can't see any error in the code or the criteria range?
    Thanks

    Re: Data Validation

Works fine for me in 2007. I tested in my default UK settings, then with German, Arabic and Chinese amongst others (to get different language settings) and then US to get different date settings. Made no difference.

Thanks for your response. It also works fine for me, but is not extracting the data on two notebooks that are using the model. When I test my code on these notebooks, it reads the code correctly but does not extract the records when column D is included in the criteria range. It works perfectly on my notebook and desktop, hence my frustration. I will keep on testing and post again when I found the solution.

Do they both have 2007 fully patched?

What do you mean by "Fully Patched"?

I have attached a new sample file that does not extract records from a DB to an output range in Excel 2007. It works fine in Excel 2010. Is there another way to extract the records from the database to the extract range based on the criteria?
    Thank You in advance

My sample file had incorrect criteria.
