Evaluate several scaled quantities to a single quantity

Here is my dilemma. I have a number of ingredients. They each have a base quantity. To keep it simple, let's just say they are A,B and C. I would like to be able to specify a total amount that the quantities add up to. For example...

If A = 5 lb
B = 10 lb
C = 6 lb

The ratio is fixed, but the final quantity doesn't have to be a whole number or anything. I would like to be able to specify 1000 lb, or 2 lb, or whatever, and have it scale each ingredient proportionally. Is there a way to do this without VBA programming / leet skills? Thanks.

In the example, the qty of A for 1000 pounds total is 5/(5+10+6)*1000
