percentages

Hi,
I have a form with a textbox for a percentage, which would be entered as just a number e.g 10. However, this goes into a cell on my worksheet which i've set up to have a percentage format because I'd like to have the % symbol and so when it gets entered into the spreadsheet it comes up as 1000%. Any idea how I can correct this?
