Data Search

Hi All,

I have a workbook which contains 3 sheets, in sheet 2 & 3 we have near about 500 employee records.

Here what i am looking is,

In sheet 1, if I enter the employee number in A1 and after clicking on the button excel will search the details of the employee from sheet 2 & 3 and will show it to me on sheet 1. (this is possible through find option but I want to make it as "Search Engine")

I do not the configuration of your data sheets 1 ,2 and 3

any how try this(hope the workbook contains only three sheets)

right click the tab of sheet1(repeat sheet1) and click viewcode. in the resulting window copy this event code.

Please Login or Register  to view this content.

now go to column A if sheet 1 type any name. and hit enter key.
If the name is available in sheet2 or sheet3 the data will come up in sheet1.
if the name is not available a series of message boxes will come up

If this solution does not satisfy you attach a small portion of your file with shee1,2 and 3
