    Progress Bar

    Good day, Gurus.

I did a search in this forum, and found the following code from Andy Pope here:

    http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...gress-bar.html

My original code in the attached sample workbook for "Lookup_List_of_Parts" works perfectly, but if you paste a long list of parts on the Lookup Part worksheet, it takes quite a while to run. If I don't comment out the ScreenUpdating command, a user wouldn't know if anything was happening or not, so I thought a progress bar would be a nice addition.

In my search, I found your example. I tried to add it to my code, and included the user form, but the progress bar isn't running. Please review the code below, and in the attached workbook, and see if you can tell where I'm missing the point. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Thaks for the reply, Pike. While review the two codes, it dawned on me that there are several elements of the progress bar code that either don't pertain to me, or might interfere with some other elements of my workbook. Namely the foolowing code appears to be specific to some other workbook:

I used Andy Pope's code as is, because I thought it was generic, and could be added to any code. Now I'm not so sure that is the case. I might need to start fresh.

This is my code. How would I add a progress bar to this?:

    Re: Progress Bar

Morning, Pike. It's only quick in my sample workbook. The real data contains another 30 sheets to filter, plus each sheet could have thousands of lines of data. And it's only getting bigger. Right now, depending on the list of parts you are filtering for, it may only take a minute or two, but as time goes on, and more data is added, it will take progressively longer.

Ok since you really dont know how long the code will take to excute from the start , how about a timer with message please what for code to excute ? Andy has a good example of timer that could run in the for ground with a spinning shape.

    Re: Progress Bar

Thanks, Pike. I checked out Andy's progress bars. They are all way to difficult for me to figure out. I'll just go with a "Busy" message box. Thanks anyway.
