    Bypass Read Only prompt

    I'm opening a workbook through VBA, and having no problems, except that the workbook being opened doesn't belong to me and displays a "Read Only" prompt. I'd like to programmatically accept or bypass that prompt.

    I've researched and found the following code

    and have set my code exactly like the example, but I still get the "Read Only" prompt. Any other ways around this?

    I tried your method, but again the workbook asked to be opened as read only.

    About the time you were typing in your response I was trying another method, which worked. My method was to replace the
