I have a simple series of 85 values. At the bottom, I ask Excel to return the MIN & MAX.
It finds the wrong values (as I indicate in the attached).
It appears to be selecting the first and last elements in the array.
What's up w/ that?

What do they call someone who blames their tools...?
Try replacing the comma with a colon.
Thanks Stephen R. I guess the real question is:
Why did Bill Gates post this as the proper syntax in MIN/MAX help:
MIN(number1,number2,...)
MAX(number1,number2,...)
for Excel 2003?
Go figure ...
Colon it is...
That is the proper syntax. You should have written MIN(A1,A2,A3 etc) or more simply (A1:A85). This one cannot be pinned on Bill Gates.
I realized the error in my logic even before you posted back, SR. You're right. The colon is used to effect the series; I was pointing to the ends of the array. I got what I asked for. My bad.
And yes, the online help (syntax) was right.
I have many other things to pin on BG, but not this one.
Thanks again.
My pleasure.
The battle continues...
