    Locking Chart data source

Here is my problem. I have a macro to create pivot tables. And I have a chart template on another spreadsheet. The pivot table I create is the data source for that chart. However, I delete this pivot table after the chart is displayed and re-run the macro to create the pivot table again.

But when I delete the pivot table, the chart data source is updated and when the pivot table is created again, the chart does not automatically take it as its data source.

Is there a way to work around this problem, so that the chart's data source has to be the pivot table, irrespective if it is present or not?
