Filter data using dropdown list options

I am using a GUI as pic attached to display details stored in a range (data2) on worksheet called data. Drop down list of names displays relevant data.

The view buttons at the bottom are macros that view the accident/incident part of the file and will filter the data to show only the accidents for the driver listed. It filters for entries of that name in 1 column and instances of accident in anoth column.

The filter ranges are shown right of GUI

I have been asked to create a button macro that will display in the data worksheet only the names that have a safepass/hazchem/manual handling. There would be an entry in the form of an expiry date.

I have tried adapting the macros used to filter the list worksheet

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

there is a dropdown list next to VIEW DETAILED LISTING with 3 options. When an option is chosen I need it to open and just display the details of the drivers with an entry in those columns you have mentioned.

question unanswered so far so I will try to clarify


in the attached file is a worksheet called GUI which is the "front end" of a system for reording and reporting on accidents/incidents. It also stores data relevant to the drivers of these vehicles.

THe three "VIEW" buttons at the lower RHS filter the data in the "FILE" worksheet to show the number of occurances attributed to the named driver. These use a macro referencing a "filter range" which can be seen on top left of GUI worksheet.

I have been asked to also filter the "DATA" worksheet using a dropdown list VIEW DETAILED LISTING refering to specific licences the driver may hold

I have tried repeating the "filter range" macro that does work for the "FILE" worksheet but I cannot get the macro to filter the the via the columns U W or Y if there is an entry in there for the driver

any help appreciated rgds nigel
