Change Cell Fill Color Based on Colors in 2 Columns

    Hello,

I hope someone can help me. I'm not even sure if this is possible but here is what I'm looking to do. I have a worksheet where 2 columns have Conditional Formatting (columns H & I).

Column J's fill color should be based on Column H & I.
If Column H is green and Column I is green = Column J is green.
If Column H is Green and Column I is Yellow = Column J is red.
If Column H is Green and Column I is Red = Column J is red.
If Column H is Yellow and Column I is Green = Column J is yellow.
If Column H is Yellow and Column I is Yellow = Column J is red.
If Column H is Yellow and Column I is Red = Column J is red.
If Column H is Red and Column I is Green = Column J is red.
If Column H is Red and Column I is Yellow = Column J is red.
If Column H is Red and Column I is Red = Column J is red.

I'm assuming that this would be handled by VBA code which I am not familiar with. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    Bump no response.

Ok I'm really stuck. Can anyone even tell me if this is possible? Do I need to provide additional info? I'm apologize if this is vague. It's my first post. :-)

    Hello djkante,

Please see the attached workbook. You don't need VBA for this. I used columns K, L, and M as helper columns. The have IF formulas to determine the conditional format color. K is for red, L is for yellow, and M is for green. The cells in column I check the state of the cells in columns K, L, and M. The format color is set when the helper cell is true. If there is an error then the cell is not colored. You can hide the columns to improve the appearance of the worksheet.
