Pulling (or putting) data

How would I go about “putting” the result of a calculation from one worksheet into a cell on another worksheet (or conversely, pull the data from the source worksheet)? The recipient worksheet cell must contain a value and cannot use a cell reference (i.e. =Sheet1!$b$2) to “pull” the data from the source cell/worksheet.
