Question How to create a click event to filter data based on typed criteria on another tab

I have a workbook with two tabs: Report and Data

The Report tab allows the user to type in a given name and it displays the various data about that person as well as an updated pivot table based on the search. However, I would like to add a button (cmdFilterDetail) to the report page that when clicked, filters the data on the data page based on the search criteria entered by the user.

I have an idea on how to do this... but I know the code needed is different than what I think. Here is an example of what I have in mind (it doesn't work):

Can someone here help walk me through creating a macro that filters based on the typed name from the other tab. I've included an example...

    Thanks,

I wanted to repost this and ask again if someone could guide me through how to assign a button to filter data on another tab based on txt entered by the user.

    Cheers,
