Running through column and changing the format

I need a macro to run though a column of data to determine if the cells is a number. Once is is identified, I need to change the format to number after which it will retype the number in the cell again.

An example will be as follows

    AA
    BB
    **
    81
    E8
    PP
    75

The macro here will run through the column and will identify 81 and 75 as number, It will then change the cell format to number after which it will retype the number 81 and 75 in respectively.

    Please advice thank you
