Lightbulb Clicking on data in one tab to fill into another tabs cell

Hi Excel'ers. I don't know if this is possible but I wanted to ask and get your thoughts. What I have currently is a check request form tab and a vendor list tab. The user needs to fill in the correct Vendor ID to continue. I have over 200 vendors to choose from so I created a vender tab the user can search through. Is there a way, once the user finds the correct vendor to click on the Vendor ID and bring that id to fill in the cell D6 on the User Request form on a different tab? I am using vlookups to auto fill the rest of the information once the correct vendor id is filled but I wanted to see if I could make that process less prone to error by giving the user the option to click the idea and auto fill the cell they need on the form.

Any idea on how to do this???

    Thanks for the help gang.

On the check request form, consider using Data Validation to provide a drop down list to select the vendor name.

See this page and take a look at the Auto-Complete Data Validation techniques Jerry Beaucaire has provided.

I am using data validation... But with a list so long I didn't want a drop down list. I am using data validation to verify that what is typed is a correct vendor number but if the user who is filling out the request needs to search for the correct vendor because she/he doesn't know the id... I thought it would make the process easier if they could click the correct vendor id on the vendor tab and it would then populate the correct cell on the request tab
