Defining CellAbove

With my cursor in cell A2 on sheet1,
If I Define "CellAbove" refersto: "A1", when I change to sheet2!A2, RefersTo = "Sheet1!A1"
If I Define "CellAbove" refersto: "!A1", then when I change sheets I get errors in the cells that use "CellAbove".

How can I define "CellAbove" to work on any sheet in the workbook? Or do I have to specifically define it for each sheet?

Hello foxguy,

Are you creating this named range using code or using the menu?
Sincerely,
Leith Ross

Remember To Do the Following....

1. Use code tags. Place
before the first line of code and
after the last line of code.

You need to create the names for each sheet, look here for an explanation how http://www.brainbell.com/tutorials/m...Worksheets.htm

Thanks Simon. I was looking for an explanation for why "!A1" wasn't good enough, but I guess this is the best I can do.

I did create the names manually. Would it make a difference if I was doing it in code?
