    Vlookup macro

Please could you provide some help in using Vlookup, having alot of difficulty

I have two databases which i need to merge, both have identical data in one column (property address) although only one database (Electoral Role) has names for these properties, and this database doesnt cover every single address, although the other databse (Properties) does.

Essentially what I need to do is search both databases for matching addresses, and then extract the names (within the same row) for these properties and transfer them to the Property Database for the corresponding property, ready for mail merging.

Please see the attached word document with pictures in it for explanation.

One further point, if we do manage to merge the databases, what would happen when the macro is searching the database and found multiple entries? Would it be possible to output an error message, rather than just defaulting to first result it comes to?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Re: Vlookup macro

What macro should do if there are several identical addresses? if there are many duplicates error message will annoy you. It would be helpful to see sample workbook in Excel.

    Re: Vlookup macro

If there are several identical addresses (meaning more than one name) it could put anything, i would find and replace that with 'The Homeowner'. Although, if possible (but probably not) if it could select a name if 2 or less, 3 or more then default to 'The Homeowner'.

Please find attached sample workbooks, not ones i have been using but are in same format.
Essentially you will see that the Property Database has all the properties but no names, the Electoral Role Database doesnt have all the properties but has names.

    Many thanks
