How to collect data from multiple documents?

I am new to this forum and have searched for an answer with no success.

I want to collect data from a certain cell in multiple excel documents.
I need the results in a separate excel document.

    How do I do?

I am a macro noob but uses Excel on a daily basis as a regular user.
I have some programming experience with ASP and Javascript.

    Hi,

Can't remember where I got this, but it will grab the value of A1 in all the files in a directory and store in column A of the book in which it's run.

Not so sure about that. As I haven't done that before but why don't you create a new file and copy those data you need. It's actually pretty hard to collect those.
