How do I link drop down menus?

    Hello,

I have looked around on this forum for a while but haven't been able to find anything that answers my question.

I have created a matrix of data that includes 3 sets of criterion, Enclosure Size, Output Voltage and Output Current. I am trying to create drop down menus so that I can first choose the Enclsure Size, then my next drop down menu will only include the corresponding Output Voltages I defined in the matrix (1=true). Then I would like to go to the Output Current menu and see only the possible options defined by the selected Enclosure Size and Output Voltage.

I have attached an example file. For instance, once I select 4 Ch, the only options for the output voltage should be 4V 6V and 8V. Once I select 8V, the only options for output current should be 200mA and 300mA.

I will eventually make this matrix much larger but I thought this was a good starting size.

Thank you in advance for any help / direction you can provide.

    Brandon

    'DEPENDENT DROP BOXES
These are called Dependent Drop Down lists and they use named ranges and INDIRECT() references for Data Validation lists in the proceeding drop boxes.

Here's a sample sheet I've posted showing how it's done. The sheet "CHOICES" has the dependent drop lists (and shows one of the dangers of using them) and the sheet "LISTS" shows the lists and named ranges in use.

    Have a look.

Sample FilesThe files you want to examine are:
    --DependentLists3.xls - 3 levels
    --DependentLists2.xls - 2 levels
    --DiminishingDropDownList-NonArray.xls
--DependentLists-SelfSorting.xls - Self-Sorting lists of fruits by color choices
