Insert new row when the 3rd character in Column changes

Good Morning,
I'm looking for a macro that would group like values together as well as insert 2 new rows each time the third value in a column changes.
For example:

COLUMN C

VGE0000
VGE0001
VGE0002
VGM0000
VGK0000
VGE0004
VGB0000
VGB0001


[Formatted]
COLUMN C
VGE0000
VGE0001
VGE0002
VGE0004
EMPTY CELL
EMPTY CELL
VGM0000
EMPTY CELL
EMPTY CELL
VGK0000
EMPTY CELL
EMPTY CELL
VGB0000
VGB0001

Hello kiblles,

This macro will add the rows when the third character changes. The first two characters are ignored. This uses the ActiveSheet and assumes the data starts in "A1".
