    Thorny problem...

So, I'm currently in charge of generating daily reports.

This means moving information between workbooks, whose names are updated daily.

What I'm trying to do is to write a macro which can move data between workbooks, but contains a dynamic reference to today's date in the format that we use to name our reports.

I'm moving the data from a master sheet which contains every department's data to department-specific sheets. So our file-names are <date> Master Sheet and <date> <department> sheet.

For example - today's master report would be called 20121209 Master Sheet(So, yyyymmdd format).

I want to move A$:Q$ in sheet 'L3 Data' in "20121209 Master Sheet" to the same place in"20121209 Accounting Sheet".

Given that the dates in the filename keep changing, I need a way to reference today's date in that format in a macro for this to always work. Is that possible to do? From my googling, I'm getting the impression that it's not actually possible to save the data across different workbooks anyway.

Any advice people could give would be very much appreciated.
