    deleting files by extentions

    Hi pals,

    I'm very new to macros and VBA and need our help badly, i need to make macro that searches in the hole HDD for a specific range of extensions for instance (.jpg,.gif,.xls .. etc) and delete them , Can this be done by macros ?

    It can but it might take some time. There;s some code on my download page which lists the contents of a folder and all its sub-folders which could be adapted to delete any file that it finds which satifies certain criteria.

    A simpler way would be to use standard 'My Computer' type search functionality for files of a certain type and delete from there.
