Converting a Math equation into an Excel formula

I hope somebody can help with this. I very rarely use Excel and have no idea where to start. Need to know how to input this formula in Excel (2004-Mac): (numbers put in for example)

    2.50
    X 1.04
    /.85
    + 2.00
    /.65
    X 1.1
    = ____

Re: Converting a Math equation into an Excel formula

Please note that your title needs to be more descriptive to enable easier searching.. I have changed it this time for you...

In a blank cell you would enter your equation as is starting with and equal sign, the only difference is the X is replaced with a *

    so

    =2.5*1.04/.85-2.00/.65*1.1

You can replace each number with cell references containing the numbers

    e.g.
    =A1*B1/C1-D1/E1*F1

where A1 to F1 contain the respective numbers from the first equation.

    =A1
Where there is a will there are many ways.
