    Macro will not run?

I solved my header problem with recording 4 macros to get the job done. BUT the main macro that Watersev helped me with a few days back, for some reason will not run now? Everything was working fine last night. Also the "START" button has floated all the way to the bottom of the sheet which is hard to find and when you press the "START" button, nothing happens?

This is an issue that I have no idea about? Any help or suggestions to getting this fixed would be appreciated. Attached is the sheet. The "START" button is hard to find at the bottom and if you press it nothing happens? I've also tried to go to the macro itself and nothing happens? It will not run?

Thanks for any help on this,
    Mitch

    Re: Macro will not run?

I've been at this for over 2 hours now, what a mess..... I've been experimenting with different versions and it seems to me that maybe there is too much macro code in one place? Is that possible?

Attached is the first project that separate's the headers and it works fine. The button stays in one place and I like it there at the top. The program off sets headers and everything is fine..

At that point there was other macro code that was added to this first program that does highlighting. Again is there too much code in my FIRST attachment in THIS THREAD?

    Thanks,
    Mitch

    Re: Macro will not run?

Can someone help me separate all of this code? I thought maybe if I can get this code separated into a couple of different macros then maybe I can it get it to work? Looks like there is 4 or 5 different commands. How can I get each one separated so that they will all work individually? I've tried and I need some help with this..

    Thank you,
    Mitch

    Re: Macro will not run?

I've been at this since 7am. Yesterday the code in my first post worked. Today it does not. I have not changed anything. This does not make any sense?

Watersev, since you helped me with this to begin with, if your available to take a look at this I'd REALLY appreciate it when you have the time?

    Thanks

    Re: Macro will not run?

ALSO.... when I try to run the program I never get an error message. My first post showing the full code all together is set up on a click button "Start". Yesterday it worked but today when I click "Start" the curser hourglass comes up like its going to run BUT...the hourglass just keeps going forever...It never stops?? and the program never starts?

    Re: Macro will not run?

Hi, MitchS, the code was written by me so I feel sort of responsibility for it. The problem of the button going down can be solved by running the code from Tools - Macro - MitchS. I have done that for you to make everything a bit easy for you. For additional comfort you can add a button to a commandbar and assign this macro to it and run it that way (no menu hassle).

I tried the file you attached. First of all it has very strange size: 1,51МB (1*589*248 bytes).
If you do simple thing select all cells and clear formats and than apply colouring for row 1 and add borders you'll get astonishing triple down size of only 527Kb (540*160 byte). It will easily fit as an attachment at this forum.

Regarding the mistake of application hanging. The reason is very simple and clear. You can test that by yourself. Try to calculate formula Small(range,2) where range equals $I$71:$I$81. The Excel will crash down, at least with me it's the case. The code uses this very function for calculations. Excel is shocked by the number minus zero. So if you select the range with data and clear of -0 with Ctrl+F you'll find that everything works nearly as it should.

I found a bug with Y column I will correct it and post final version of the file to use. Hope it will make your life a bit brighter.

    Re: Macro will not run?

PS...I tested that -0 and yes that was the culprit! Funny thing is that I have no idea how -0's got into my data. Should just be a "0"... Guess I'll have to live with that, but at least when it happens next time I'll know what to do...Thank you!
