    Checking names in a list, then updating corresponding data [see attached file]

    Excel 2003 ...

    Attached file ... I have two sets of names, one of which has a date next to them, and the other doesn't. I want to automatically put the date into the upper table opposite the corresponding name.

    I have a solution that works, EXCEPT when there are two first names the same.

    Any clues, please??

    Thanks, ken - Australia

    Sorry, this is the formula, not the previous one ... this is the formula i currently have.

    {=IF(COUNTIF($B$70:$B$105,$A29)=0,"no match",IF(COUNTIF($C$70:$C$105,$B29)=0,"????",MIN(IF($B$70:$B$105=$A29,ROW($B$70:$B$105)))))}

    thanks - ken
