Output value based on what is chosen in dropdown list

Hi everyone! I have attached a sample file for what I am trying to do...

I have a dropdown list which is populated from E2:E41. Cells F2:F41 correspond with the cells from E2:E41. When I choose from the dropdown list (cell A2) I want to output the corresponding F column cell in cell C2.

    EX

In cell A2 I choose the value "Dropdown value 10" (cell E11). I want cell C2 to output "Output value 10" (cell F11).

It seems like there would be a simple if statement but I have not been able to figure it out. Please help! Thanks.

    Hi Russell,
Do you have to use seperate columns? I ask because what I'm getting at, is that you can use the 2 lists "Dropdown Value" and "Output Value" in the same Validation dropdown.

    Thanks for the reply John.

Unfortunately I do have to use separate columns. They will actually be hidden and locked; they will only be used as a reference for the dropdown and output cells.

The main goal of this is simple for the spreadsheet to automatically update at selection of the dropdown menu without having to click or look at anything else. This will be for users who are very unfamiliar with excel. It will not have the functionality necessary if users have to sort per your attached. Thank you anyway for the timely response!
