    Automation error (error 440)

    Hi,

I have an excel file which has been created by an external company that doesn't exist anymore,

    the excel contain VB code,

I have about 20 users who are able to open and use this excel file properly, however, I have 1 specific workstation that cannot open this excel file,

When the excel is being opened I'm getting the error:

Automation error (error 440), and then it starts the visual basic editor of excel,

Since it is working on other computers, I believe it is not a problem in the code or in the file itself,

I already reinstalled office, the computer seems to be just the same as other computers,

I really have no idea what else can I do,

is there a way to reinstall / fix the VBA part ? doesn't it happen as part of office reinstallation?

Could you please help me understand what can be done in order to troubleshoot this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the forum.

Is there a particular line of code that fails?

    Re: Automation error (error 440)

    thank you for replaying

no, it doesn't show me what exactly is failing,

it doesn't even show me the code when it fails, if I want to see the code I need to double click on a specific sheet on the left side,

and it doesn't matter what sheet I select - if I click on 'play' I'm getting immediately the same message, and when I click on OK the word [break] is being added to the status of the editor,

I doubt if there is something wrong in the code, as this same file is being opened properly on other computers without any problem,

    Please advise,
