    Tricky drop down list

    Hi All,
    I have data in column A sheet 1:
    Ex:
    A1 =Apple
    A2 =Pear
    A3=Banana
    A4= Grape
    A5=Kiwi
    A6=strawberry
    In sheet 2 I have a range drop down list in cell B1:
    A1:A2
    A3:A5
    A2:A4
    Ect…
    If I select A1:A2 then in cell B2 I will get another drop down list of just
    Apple
    Pear
    If I select A2:A4 then I will get in B2 a drop down list consist of
    Pear
    Banana
    Grape
    And so on

    Please help!

    Thank you…..

    Re: Tricky drop down list

    For your B2 data validation, choose List and enter formula: =INDIRECT(B1)
    Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Re: Tricky drop down list

    If your data is in Sheet1 and your data validations in Sheet2, then the formula would be more like:

    =INDIRECT("'Sheet1'!"&B1)
