    Adding specific values from an ever changing list in Excel.

    Ok, so what I'm wanting is to be able to show the totals of a specific number out of a list of numbers between 1 and 4 from an ever changing list.

    Basically each cell in the list could be any number from 1 to 4, and I want the show the total amount of 2's in the list of 50 cells, shown in 1 cell.

    Have you looked at COUNTIF?

    e.g. =COUNTIF(A:A,2)

    this counts the number of 2's in entire column A.
