VBA Excel 2010 Compatibility problems

Hi everyone,

I have an excel file in format Excel 97-2003 which contains a macro.

In my computer I am using Excel 2010.
I would like to modify that file, more precisely I would like to add a button in a spredsheet for running the macro. I know how to add it, I just click on the Develober tab, then Insert and I instert a buttun to which I link the macro.

Then it seems it works. But when I save the file I come across a pop up window telling that there could be problem of compatibility. I click OK.
Then when I open again the file, the button has disappeared.

I would be grateful if anyone could help me.

hi, Gio_it, actually I've never used that stuff (Excel 2010) but try the following:
1. Open Excel 2010
2. Open your file in Excel 97-2003 with macro inside in Excel 2010.
3. Save the file in Excel 2010 format (I suppose it should be sort of .xlsm or whatever type with macros enabled)
4. Repeat your steps on creating button and assigning macro and check it out

Actually I tried to save the file in Excel 2010 format but It cannot find the macro anymore. It seems there is a problem of compatibility again.

Moreover if possible I would like to keep the format of excel 97-2003.
