    Data validation - Forced "response"

Attached is an example workbook for a data validation problem I am having.

If an item has a background then in column A you select Yes or No.

If Yes is selected then the user chooses the color.

If No is select I would like B to default to "White" and show the word "White" not just have it available as the only selection in the drop down.

If possible if nothing is in A then B should be blank.

Another possible option would be vba code that creates the data validation formula in B2 and then copies down column B until the last row of data in A.
