    Remove All Characters Past Symbol

    Hello All,

This should be a quick easy one. I have a list of devices where the length changes from device to device. Each on as a Letter code after it in parenthesis. I need to remove everything the parenthesis and the value. See example below.

    1233456 (J)
    Should be 1233456

    98765432 (JJ)
    Should be 98765432

    I appreciate any help. Thanks

    Kelly

    Try this
    =TRIM(LEFT(A2,FIND(" (",A2)))

Although I suspect there will be more to your problem than just this

    Hi Marcol,

That worked perfectly. I can put the forumla into a VB script and do a copy and past value function. If anyone knows of a VB script to do this that would work well too. Thanks for the help.

As Stephen says, there is no need for either VBa nor even a formula.

Thank you all for the help.

    Marcol,

That is what I was looking for. How to do it in VB. Thank you very much.
