    Data from internet

    Hello,

New here. First, not 100% sure I have this posted in the correct forum, and if I do not I am sorry. I searched through them and this one seemed the best. Also, I did search for this topic and was unable to locate what I needed. Here is what I am trying to do:

I have a general finances sheet for all my banking, bills, etc. I have recently invested in a large amount of silver and want to add that to my total assets. I need to be able to pull the current silver rate from the internet and have it load in my spreadsheet. This way when I open the sheet the information will always update from that link, but only for the "current rate" of the silver. I am pretty sure this can be done, but up to this point have not been able to figure out how to do it.

Any help will be truly appreciated, thank you!

If you already have a web site that can provide the data, you can use the External Data functionality in Excel where you specify the web site and then select the location of the portion of the page that is of interest to you.

    Have a look at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...010167227.aspx
