Dynamically can we increase the Size i.e Width or Length of an Autoshape such as Line

For making an Authentic Form need to use a Dynamic Short/Long Line Shape Below some Text, the length depends on the length of the characters in the text and then it needs to auto-adjust the length and luckily the starting point is always goig to be from the same position..

Ex:
Mr. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar

Mr. Rahul Dravid

In the above two cases the Underline is auto-adjusted but it does not give the desired effect so can something be done to Increase the length of the Line AutoShape kept a little more below the above 2 text unlike the Underline.

Also, how t equate the No of Characters to the length of the Autoshape which is in a DIfferent Unit of Measurement such as points.

Thanks again, yours was a brilliant code Marcol and I have still not used it yet but would be adding it in my Final File..as I am still in the process of finalising the FIle so it has not been added and not otherwise..

But I was not satisfied with the UNDERLINE effect actually which is very close to the TEXT bottom and therefore to make the Form look more Authentic wanted to have a line...which can be kept a little more away from the Bottom..

Though I have already tried it with my Shabby code..

But thanks anyways if nothing works then ofocurse I will be using the UNDERLINE effect ..
