Macro that will Identify Conflicting Unit Assignments of Persons

    Hello,

I have groups of data in Excel and I am trying to create a macro because it has thousands of data that I need to compare but I can't figure out how to do it. The worksheet has only 2 columns- the 1st is the Name and the 2nd is the Unit. The data are grouped according to names. Please see attached file "Names & Units.jpg" to see the data.

Now, not all the Units beside the names should be assigned to that Name or person that is why I need a macro that will check each group of names and will tell me that for example - "SINCIONG is already under AMR so he should not be under MDM & TYM". The remarks will be shown in the 3rd column beside the Units. The macro will run until all Names and Units have been checked. To clarify further, here are the rules for the unallowable Unit assignments for one person:

    1) Person under AMR should not be under MDM, TYM and vice versa
    2) Person under ASC should not be under POA and vice versa

Please refer to the attached file- "Names & Units with Remarks.jpg" to view a sample Desire Result.

Would really appreciate your help on this.

    Thanks a lot!

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
