    Extracting times from dataset titles

I have sets of data provided to me which have titles in a format which makes it very hard to manipulate for analysis. Essenttially i would like to extract this time from the title and paste it alongside the data in one of the colomns. As always it is easier to describe with an example. Please see attatched spreadsheet.

    Many thanks

    Using your posted workbook....
    On Sheet1 (2)...
This regular formula, when copied down, lists the section time

Copy that formula down as far as you need.

Is that something you can work with?

Re: Extracting times from dataset titles

unfortunately i require a macro to do this, no only because i have huge quantities of datasets to process but also because the produced spredsheet is for use by my collegues. I plan to distribute it to them in a simplified format. I.e containing no equations.

Is there anyway this can be done by macro?

    Many thanks

Firstly, amazing! I think i am in love with this macro! I wish i knew exactly what it was doing. Unfortunately this macro is so complex that i cant edit it to do the simplest of functions. All that has changed is that the "title and "data" are offset one to the left. Please see attatched.

    Many thanks

Again absolutely amazing, there are a couple of erros on my behalf which has meant it doesnt work exactly as it should, i attempted to edit the code but i cannot seem to achieve what i require. I have attatched an ammended version. It lists the two problems I have encountered and other detail also.

Sincerest apologies for this, but also i cant thank you enough for the help.

    All the best
