Bytes merging when sent from comm port

When sending a string from the comm port I am finding using a packet sniffer that the byte arrays sent seem to merge into one - not quite sure why

Tried making it wait between each sending but no success there

code in d25 where string 1 is sourced is ascii #btA^EOA^EOA^EOA^EOTB...

4 & 2 are set before the loop at "d" and "t" respectively

as read coming out of the usb port is

    ddt#btA^EOA^EOA^EOA^EOTB...t

all in one go which seem to be some bizarre mix of strings 4,4,2,1,2

Why does it merge them all into one?
