    format cells not to show minus numbers and replace with zero

    I am trying to make a chart to record the generation of my solar panels.I want to enter te meter reading then caculate the daily generation and also average the daily generation,but as you can see I end up with a minus number in the daily generation column.how can I set this up so I can get a daily average.the calc is on sheet 2

    thought that was the answer but I also do not want the minus numbers to count in the average calculation.I need the minus numbers replaced by zero

    = MAX(D6-D5,0)

    Copy down (and up) as required.

    Tried that but it returns an error reading saying" the formula you typed contains an error "

    Did you copy and paste it? That was the formula for C6. You can copy it down and you can copy it up but only as far as cell C3.

    It has an unnecessary space after the equals sign, but then, so did your formula, and it doesn't make a difference.
